Licensing & branding

RSA-signed license activation, plan tiers, and white-label customization.

License activation#

During setup, you upload a pre-activation .lic file. The setup wizard:

  1. Verifies the RSA-4096 signature offline
  2. Shows a preview (product, tier, customer, enabled clouds)
  3. Activates with the license server (binds to your installation ID)
  4. Syncs plan details, enabled clouds, and allowed domains
Tip
The license is bound to your email and installation ID (a UUID on disk) — not your hostname. You can move the installation to a different server without re-licensing.

Daily re-validation#

A background task runs at 3 AM daily:

  • ✓Successful — updates last-validated timestamp, syncs plan details
  • ✓Server unreachable — 7-day grace period begins (platform continues normally)
  • ✓Still unreachable after 7 days — license suspended
  • ✓Revoked or expired — local status updated immediately

Personal

Single cloud provider, single tenant. For individual practitioners or small teams.

Professional

Multi-cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), single tenant. For businesses with multi-cloud workloads.
🏗️

MSP

Multi-cloud, unlimited tenants. For managed service providers managing client environments.

Upgrading#

Request a new license file reflecting your new tier, then upload it in Settings → License → "Apply Plan Upgrade". New plan details take effect immediately — no restart required.

Note
The License tab is only visible to the Owner role in live mode.

White-label branding#

Make CCO your own from Settings → Branding (Owner only):

Replaces "Cloud Cost Optimizer" in sidebar, login page, browser tab, and all emails.

Logo

PNG/JPG/SVG/WebP up to 2 MB. Appears in sidebar, login page, and email headers.

PNG/ICO/SVG up to 256 KB. Shown in the browser tab.

Accent Color

Hex color picker with gradient preview. Applied to email headers, login page gradient, and PDF report headers.

Where branding appears#

  • ✓Sidebar & navigation — custom logo and company name on every page
  • ✓Login page — your logo, name, and accent color gradient
  • ✓Browser tab — custom favicon and company name in title
  • ✓All emails — report, alert, budget, explorer, invitation, and password reset
  • ✓PDF & Excel reports — branded headers and footers
Scope note
The accent color applies to email headers, login page gradient, and PDF headers. It does not change the full app UI theme (which remains the dark theme with blue accents). This keeps the interface consistent while giving your brand visibility at customer-facing touchpoints.
